TECHNICAL PROJECT LEADER

ALTEN are currently looking for an experienced and technical project leader to lead one of our work packages together with one of our biggest clients within the Transportation Industry! Are you a leader with good technical understanding? Then you might just be the one we are looking for.

For this long-term assignment, we are looking for someone who will play the key role in developing ALTEN’s growth and partnership with one of our biggest clients. You will lead a development project with a team consisting of experienced architects and engineers with different skills and backgrounds and in the role you are expected to work much of your time in Västerås. You will therefore have a close collaboration with stakeholders, ALTEN business units and ALTEN’s Technical Unit Management Team.

Your main responsibilities will include:
• Plan, lead and coordinate an embedded systems development project within transportation
• Sync project status with stakeholders and lead a mixed team with personas from both ALTEN and the cust
• Set up time plans and work for the team based on Statement of works with ALTEN Technical Unit Manager

To be successful in this role, we would like to see that you meet the following requirements:
• Several years of experience leading technical development projects
• Technical background within Embedded Systems or IT
• Good command of English language
• Hold a M.Sc. in an Engineering principle

Meritorious skills:
• Railway or Automotive domain knowledge
• Experience from working with development within functional safety or cybersecurity

Emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. You must therefore also demonstrate ability and experience in the following soft skills:

Responsibility
The Project Leader will have a big responsibility in being the main interface towards the client but also internal stakeholders. It is important to understand the need for transparency and the expectations that come with this role.

Communicability
A good Project Leader should be able to talk with customers in the language of business, managers of all levels, business analysts, architects and developers.

Management skills
Includes both organisational and leadership skills. The ability to lead a team, which may be distributed and composed of very different specialists.

Stress resistance
A Project Leader works with different people from different areas, rapidly changing demands or even changing business environments. Therefore, it is necessary to be stress resilient and to look actively for ways to escape negative emotions and keep communication at a professional level even in stressful situations.
