Technical Project Manager to Surface Division Epiroc

The Surface Division (SRD) develops, manufactures and markets rock and exploration drilling equipment. The machines are used for various applications in civil and geotechnical engineering, quarries and both surface as well as underground mines worldwide.

Join our team
We are now looking for an experienced and qualified candidate with the main mission to work as Technical Project Manager in the Research & Development (R&D) department. As Technical Project Manager you will lead the R&D part of our basic development and new product development projects, from idea to a complete product. The overall challenge in this role is to find the optimal compromise using a fully holistic approach, together with your sub Project team as well as cross functionally in the Project team. Our product development projects can be both local projects in Örebro but also global projects with project members and project managers from different Epiroc sites around the world.


Your mission
Your main responsibilities in this role will be to define a suitable sub project organization and agree with the line Managers about resource allocations and to formulate the goals, objectives, exclusions, time plan & budget for the sub project together with the members of the sub project team. Further you will take responsibility to continuously reflect, be proactive, innovative and, when applicable, suggest improvements to the project realization to the Project Manager. You will also plan, follow up and update the resource need continuously to allow a good planning in the line organization. You proactively handle risks in the sub project. Throughout the project you coach and motivate colleagues in the team and secure support for the sub project in the organization.


This is a wide and outreached position including many internal cross functional contacts but also externally with sales companies, customers, other Epiroc sites around the world, suppliers etc.

Your work is influenced by your innovative mindset and customer focus. It is important that you have a broad interest in technology and a good sense of order plus you need a proven track record of delivering results with good quality on time.
To succeed in this role you have a documented academic background within the area, proven experience from technical project management and at least 5-7 years of experience from technical product development with similar complexity as our products. Experience from mobile applications in demanding environments is meriting. Since your work includes many contacts, global and national, it is required that your Swedish and English skills, verbal and written, are very good.
