Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

The group Modularisation plays an important role in this shift by matching future customer demands with technical roadmaps and new solution development projects. Today the group consist of eight technical project managers with a mix of age, cultural background and gender. Each technical project manager is responsible for a separate technology field to cover all strategic areas within Scania trucks product portfolio.

Our group, Modularisation, is an essential part of Technical Product Planning and responsible for leading cross functional product planning work within Scania together with MAN and TRATON.

We have the ownership of R&Ds strategic buckets (budget for a strategic product areas) and a continuous dialogue with general management within R&D and Sales & Marketing via e.g. Strategic Portfolio Meeting (SPM). Our group is also managing Scania concept projects portfolio and is responsible for Scania’s concept development process and decision meetings.

The mission

We are now looking for a Technical Project Manager that would like to contribute to the success and profitability of Scania. In the position, you will be responsible to plan the Scania Bygglåda while safeguarding modularisation within an area that is considered strategic for our long term business, and lead cross-functional work to understand how new customer demands can best be transformed into new customer solutions offerings in line with the company’s strategy.

You will initiate, support and coordinate new concept development projects within given strategic area and be part of ensuring cross-functional alignment around concept ready prior to industrialization.

That means that you will be leading the cross-functional work of defining and developing customer proposal ideas and technical development to ensure modularisation and reach desired product property targets. You will be responsible for reports to SPM on the overall financials and roadmap for the bucket and be part of yearly prognosis to understand future need and possibility to start new initiatives.

As a Technical Project Manager will be part of the solution management team and work closely to ensure that long term roadmaps are developed and maintained to guarantee lean-agile development and good quality in upcoming decision material for Scania Executive Management.

Your Profile

We believe that you are a senior project manager with at least 5 years of documented projects, executed with success. You have experience from strategy creation and deployment, and as a person you are engaged, structured and like to work in an environment with high pace. You have a strong personal drive to initiate and lead initiatives and you put pride in reaching agreed assignments on time with good quality.

You have the courage to dare to try new ideas, and have good ability to develop and maintain a wide network of contacts at all levels. You are comfortable with presenting and reporting to larger groups. You are able to understand the holistic picture with ease and lead teams in projects to develop solutions to maximize Scania and customer profitability.

We think you are curious on new technologies as well as our customers and have a talent for understanding how the details build a bigger picture. You believe that different perspectives are necessary to understand the complex problems we have ahead of us and naturally brings people together to solve them.

You speak fluent Swedish and English and have no problems expressing yourself in speech and writing. Experience and knowledge about Scania´s methods and processes is meritorious.
