About this opportunity
Ericsson’s Baseband Infrastructure (BBI) organization provides key products and services to all Ericsson Radio Access Baseband (BB) applications 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G. BBI’s product portfolio includes operating system libraries (kernel, boot loader, communication and observability services), a tool's suite (IDE, build system, compiler, code analysis, test framework, debugger and trace), and a programming model tailored to the Ericsson Many Core Architecture (EMCA) hardware. The complete offering is referred to as the EMCA Software Development Kit (EMCA SDK).
We currently seek a Technical Project Manager to join BBI as driver for internal improvements. You will be reporting to a program manager but in all other respects handle budget and plans independently. Your major contacts will be with BBI and application teams, associated project managers and BBI line managers.
BBI is currently focusing on deploying code analysis tools and other means to improve product quality and security. We are striving for common solutions for platform and the 5G applications and the improvements will happen in collaboration with application quality and security specialists.
You will have a budget of people and competence but will also need to coordinate and co-plan other projects groups to succeed. The project organization will vary depending on the task at hand, and you will build a large network across several line organizations.
What you will do
Drive improvement projects including studies, development and/or deployment and handover to product guardians and operations.
Coordinate groups from different programs that contributes to projects you drive in dialogue with involved program managers.
Generate positive energy in finding common solutions within BBI and between BBI and the 5G application.
Provide visibility, highlight issues, manage risks, and proactively look for solutions. Clearly articulate options and tradeoffs and as needed make tough and pragmatic decisions.
You will bring
Previous experience as project manager.
Experience from large scale deployment of tools and processes.
Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal.
The ability to drive decisions based on different, and often competing, points of view.
A can-do attitude.
At least MSc level in computer science, computer engineering or similar.
You are at an advantage if you have one or more of the following qualifications:
Experience from working with quality assurance and/or product security
Experience of SW development in a Linux environment using e.g. Git and Gerrit.
Experience from application development on EMCA.
