Smoltek is developing process technology and concepts for applications based on carbon nanotechnology to solve advanced materials engineering problems of the future. By pioneering carbon nanotechnology, we are literally pushing the limits of what is possible in the semiconductor industry. We have developed a technology platform that enables us to exploit the extraordinary properties of carbon nanofiber (CNFs) to build capacitors with high capacitance density and superior electrical performance.



What will you be doing:

In the R&D team we are committed to deliver superior performance by building on the extraordinary opportunities provided by our unique technology. To further strengthen our team, we are now looking for a highly technical project manager with a background in semiconductor, microelectronics, or RF industry.

- At this role you will be responsible for defining, executing, and managing R&D projects and you will play an important role in bringing Smoltek’s technology to the market. You are expected to work closely with our external partners such as foundries and test houses around the world. As a member of a small R&D team you are expected to get involved with the technical details of the project and contribute to the technical progress by participating in device design, microfabrication process development, and even characterization of the capacitor devices.

- We are a young and growing company and as a person with a key role you will be pivotal in shaping the organization as well as its technology. This position reports directly to the CTO and head of R&D.

What are your key responsibilities:

- Define, execute, and manage Smoltek´s R&D projects

- Contribute directly to the technical progress of the project

- Identify new opportunities to further improve our technology and take initiative in proposing and defining new projects accordingly

- Define and manage internal and external resources needed to successfully deliver the projects

- Lead the collaboration with external partners such foundries and test houses

- Report project status including technical summaries to internal and external stakeholders

- Contribute actively to Smoltek’s IP portfolio

Who are you:

To be successful in this role we believe you are well structured and self-driven and have strong background in Semiconductor industry. It is expected that you are familiar with semiconductor processes and have preferably worked with semiconductor process development either in a research environment or industrial setup. You are expected to be fluent in spoken and written English.

Other important competencies for the position:

- MSc or PhD in electrical engineering, engineering physics, or similar

- Extensive experience with Semiconductor, microelectronics, or RF industry

- Extensive experience with Semiconductor, microelectronics, or RF industry

- Good knowledge of microfabrication process

- Experience in working with foundries and related process development is a plus

- Previous experience with project management and running projects according to defined process in an industrial setting

- Experience with carbon nanotechnology (CNT, CNF, graphene, or similar) is a plus

- Interest in and aptitude for working with everything from technical details to broader system issues.

- Be willing to travel domestically and internationally to meet suppliers and customers
