Avalanche Studios Group is looking for a Technical QA Engineer to join us! This is a great opportunity to help improving the test and development processes, and proactively provide support as needed. In this role you will be able to make an impact by helping our team improve productivity by building and testing tools, environments and creating automation.
We believe you have a great understanding of video game design and video game development. You are a finisher who wants to fulfill your projects and tasks and finish the work to deliver. You will be using a mix of manual and technical testing skills to execute a variety of testing techniques to analyse the quality.
The way you like to work is sitting together with the code team, because you understand this is the strategy that will increase movement, decisions and quality.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years working with AAA video game development and different console platforms
- Experience analyzing and testing game engines, content and asset editors, software tools, and shared technologies
- Understanding of game design and development.
- Experience with scripting (example Python, batch files and so on) some simple automation
- Proactive and solution-driven approach to problem-solving
Desired Qualifications
- You can on your own; design, implement and maintain simple automatic testing
JIRA
- Familiarity with any source control, debuggers, and other software development tools (e.g. Perforce, Visual Studio, etc).
- Knowledge in any of these areas: SQL & MongoDB, and the ability to query databases, Game Engines or 3D toolsets, Backend servers and APIs, Games as a Service, Audio tooling and performance
- Prior experience with test automation tools
- High social skills and great at communication
- Experience as QA on at least 1 - 4 released software products is preferred
