Responsibilities
In order to backfill an open position within Wood Finishes and Adhesives we are looking to recruit a Technical Representative to Wood Finishes Products.

You visit our customers across Europe on a frequent basis to support their operations and recommend to existing and potential customers how to best utilize our products in the most efficient way. With your technical knowledge and with help from your colleagues within sales and service and the R&D department, you provide our customers with the best sustainable, efficient and technical solutions.

You are responsible to maintain and grow customers and sales through customer training, troubleshooting, online problem solving, and recommendation of overall improvements to our customers, support product development and lead customer trials and line startups. You have regular contacts with internal departments for input on continuous improvements, product upgrading and to aid in assisting customers and sales.

You prepare reports on visits with information concerning optimum operating conditions for use of AkzoNobel wood finishes products and observations concerning equipment performance/capabilities and the product performance. You stay updated on current technology advances in wood finishes industry.

Qualifications
To be successful in this position you should have a chemistry or machine technical degree on high school level, university level or equivalent experience.

Experience with major types of wood finishes and wood finishes application equipment is highly desirable. Experience in wood finishes development, application in wood working industry or equipment provider is also desirable.

The position requires frequent traveling, primarily in Europe. Expect to travel at least 50% of the working time as well as required extended days at the customer facility.

You must be able to work under general supervision and highly independent, directly with customers, using own discretion following established and/or accepted methods and procedures. You establish and maintain fruitful relations with clients, colleagues and other contacts within the business. You appreciate to work within different countries and cultures, have business acumen and want to deliver the best solutions in industry to our customers.

This is a permanent position on a full time basis, reporting to the Key Account Manager.
