The role

In this role, you will harmonize and revise the technical requirements (TR) for Volvos Power Distribution Units (PDU). Volvos in-house designed PDU contains both High Voltage and High Current and is a part of the Volvo Commercial Vehicles Electric drivelines. The requirements foundation is set based on general TR’s, Standards and System specifications. 

The role also includes following up the requirements fulfillment and outcome throughout the component validation and verification in the projects. It requires a close collaboration with the verification team along the physical testing on component and vehicle level. If there are failures in design verification, you will participate and sometimes lead the root cause analysis team.

You will be part of an in-house design team consisting of component owners and design engineers, all of whom you will work closely with. In this team you are the go-to person for requirements and requirements fulfillment. In addition, production engineers, project managers aftermarket, Business Areas representatives and more will be on your Teams chat frequently.

Needless to say, a structured way of working and effective organizing skills is important as well as good communication and networking skills.

It is important that you are flexible and enjoy working in a changing environment with a lot of collaboration, discussing and developing design as well as testing. Naturally, you will bring a curious and solution-oriented mindset. 

Requirements
•    BSc within Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
•    5+ years’ dedicated experience working with requirements within automotive.
•    Experience of working with product development, preferably in-house designed.
•    Good understanding of component verification, DV (Design Validation) testing on electrical products.
Not least, you have an inner drive to save the planet by developing solutions for zero emission vehicles through correct requirement setting and testing.
Meritorious, if you have
•    Experience in developing Power Distribution Units for Electromobility
•    Experience from Production of components for electrical drivelines for Commercial Vehicles (Trucks or Construction Equipment)  
•    Experience in DFMEA, 8D, FTA (Fault Tree Analysis) and system diagnosis
•    Experience of working with End of Line testing within automotive
