Technical Sales Engineer
An exciting opportunity has arisen for two driven engineers who wants to work closely with our customers as Technical Sales Engineer in the Naval or Commercial segment. You will belong to the Sales Support team in the Propeller & Shaft Line Systems organization. Part of the work and day-to-day management takes place in collaboration with the Propeller sales organization. This position is a unique opportunity where you can influence our customers in finding optimal solutions, creating better system and select the best product for different vessels. You will develop a deep understanding how our propulsion system integrates and works in different vessels and applications.
As Technical Sales Engineer, you will be part of the team responsible for developing optimal propulsion solutions on behalf of both internal and external customers. The assignments range from advanced concept studies to rapid analyses. The Technical Sales Engineer’s work takes place in close collaboration with the sales organization, Kongsberg Hydrodynamics Research Center, our technical departments, purchasing and other stakeholders.
Your work results in technical specifications and drawings that will form the technical part of the contracts with our customers and support the costing of our product. As a Technical Sales Engineer, you are the customer's contact person at Kongsberg for technical issues during the sales phase, therefore building relationship with our customers is a natural and important part of the job. Business trips to our customers are part of the work.
Qualifications and experience
You have a post-secondary education in mechanics, hydrodynamics or similar. We prefer that you have a good understanding of the propulsion system and our business, and preferably experience in some of the areas mechanical, shaft analysis, hydrodynamics or hydraulics.
In this position collaboration is key to succeed. You are driven by supporting customers and find it exciting to have discussions and argue for different technical solutions with our customers to reach an agreement. We value your personal characteristics highly and your ability to co-operate and network, communicate clearly, share knowledge, and support your colleagues in the pursuit of team goals. The ability to work in a flexible way and ability to work with both larger investigations and more limited analyses are preferred.
