Hitachi ABB Power Grids’ High Voltage Products team provides products which help enhance the safety, reliability and efficiency of power networks while minimizing environmental impact. Our technology leadership continues to facilitate developments in areas such as ultra-high-voltage power transmission, enabling smart grids and enhancing eco-efficiency.
You will be part of one of Hitachi-ABB’s strongest teams on passive power quality solutions. In the team you will be acting as a specialist on capacitor units for HVDC/FACTS valve applications and passive harmonic filters. The role includes tight collaboration with the R&D organization as well as the project organization. You will support the latter throughout project execution by providing your expertise in the field. If you are not already an expert in the field, the position offers opportunities to become one.
Your responsibilities
Review and analyse RFQ documents and identify the scope of supply, develop technical solutions, prepare technical datasheets, list of deviations and clarifications etc.
Collaborating with Front End Sales in Europe, hold training seminars and other events to promote HAPG products to different Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM).
Collaborate with Local and Global Product Managers to review and validate the technical designs through Technical Risk Review Meetings.
Customer visits and provide technical guidance on design related queries to convince HAPG solutions.
Design of Capacitor solutions for HVDC/FACTS valve applications.
Provide support to the project and manufacturing organization on the electrical aspects of your designs during project execution.
Collaborate with the supply chain function, review vendor documentation, prepare RFQs, and provide design related evaluation of proposals for non-standard materials and equipment.
Contribute to design reviews and verify following established QA/QC process, provide feedback on design aspects and make necessary modifications.
Responsible for handling quality issues and coordinate by timely offering necessary RCA and reports to increase the customer satisfaction.
Your background
You hold a university degree in technical background (preferably electrical engineering) and you have experience in similar role
Experience in power system and/or power quality
Experience in HVDC/FACTS system design is a meritorious
You are open-minded and eager to learn new things
You are ready to work in an international and multicultural work environment
You are structured, persistent and well-organized in your way of working and is committed to customer satisfaction
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
