Technical Service Specialist to Marine and Protective Coatings

Then you may be our new Technical Service Specialist for International Paint Marine and Protective Coatings in the DACH, Nordics & Baltics technical service team.

International Paint is a global world leading protective coatings company. At our site in Angered, outside Gothenburg in Sweden we have sales- and marketing offices for our three business segments; Marine & Protective Coatings, Yacht and Powder Coatings. In Angered we also manufacture protective coatings for bridges, wind turbines, sport arenas and more. International Paint is part of the AkzoNobel group of companies since 1998. The company had 2020 a turnover of around one billion SEK and about 140 employees from more than 28 different nationalities.

What you will do?
In the role as Technical Service Specialist you will be responsible for technical cases of high complexity that need to be handled to meet our customer’s needs. You will provide the high-level technical support and act as an inhouse technical consultant for the sales and technical teams in Nordics & Baltics region. Furthermore, you will be a key technical contact for selected clients and resellers. The customers are in a wide range of industries, such as infrastructure, power, oil and gas, OEM and marine.

In addition, your main tasks will be to:
• Provide support and advice at difficult and complex projects with Marine and Protective coatings products and speciality products
• Act as technical advisor for our specialty products for customers, sales team and technical team
• Be a back-up for on-site visits and inspections in Marine and Protective projects
• Coordinate trouble shooting and complaint investigations
• Have contact with external test institutes and authorities
• Represent International Paint in coatings associations and standardisation groups
• Stay informed about product health, safety and environment regulations in Nordic region´s countries and be responsible to keep environmental data bases up to date
• Support the regional team in preparing technical documents for bids and offers
• Support the regional technical service manager in accurate reporting and administration tasks

You will be part of a wonderful and committed team of technicians and an expanded team of sales, marketing, R&D and manufacturing.


This is a permanent employment. Location is planned to be in Angered, Gothenburg but can be flexible in the Nordic region for the very right candidate. You will report to Regional Technical Service Manager.

Who you are?
To succeed as Technical Service Specialist, you need to understand industrial business processes combined with strong technical or chemical knowledge. You should therefore be holding higher education in some of these fields.

Understanding of corrosion protection by coatings is a key competence, as well as general knowledge within the paints and coatings industry.
Beneficial is also experience from coatings applications and coatings inspections as well as holding a certification such as NACE Level 2 or FROSIO Level 3.

As a person are you structured in your way of working and understand the importance of planning your activities, as well as reporting the outcome of them. Goal oriented, relationship building and customer focused are words that describes you. You speak and write fluent in one Scandinavian language and are fluent in writing and speaking in English. You should be comfortable in speaking and presenting in front of people.
