Technical Specialist Complete Vehicle CFD

As part of the Environment & Fluid Dynamics department our team of 16 people makes out the Contamination and Core CFD section where we have a long tradition of using CFD as a tool for the engineering and design process. We work with the following areas; contamination, climate comfort and aero acoustics but also support our sister sections Thermodynamics and Aerodynamics with analysis, method development and CFD know-how. The CFD part of the section is responsible for planning and performing CFD analysis in all phases of vehicle programs, both individually and in teams. We work together with system/attribute leaders, analysis engineers, stylists and designers to develop and verify our systems and components in our future vehicles.
As a Technical Expert within Complete Vehicle CFD, you will be responsible for the long term CFD strategy within the department and R&D to enable the 2020 vision and use of virtual CFD methods. An important part of your work is to contribute to the continuously improvement of our working processes and CFD methods. Furthermore, close cooperation with universities and participation in global research programs are an essential part of our long term development. As a Technical Expert some of your tasks will be to strengthen the product impact by means of CFD, lead the department CFD council as well as be a CFD mentor within the department.
Main responsibilities
* Lead the development of CAD cleaning tools and CFD software's for aero, thermo, contamination, climate comfort and aero acoustic attributes, and suggest actions/benchmarks when appropriate
* Owns the long term CFD strategy within the department and R&D
* Coordinate the department computational cluster capacity demand
* Coordinate input to the annual process, Basic Design and AE related issues for Complete Vehicle CFD
* Drive collaboration with external partners such as universities, governmental programs and other OEMS
* Drive utilization of cost and leadtime efficiency tasks
* Lead and support the department's method development projects to meet our future challenges. You will also be involved in planning and performing CFD analysis in all phases of vehicle programs
Required qualifications
* PhD or MSc in Fluid Dynamics
* At least 10 years of CFD experience within the functional area
* Experience from automotive CFD including at least two of the following attributes; Aerodynamics, thermodynamics, contamination, climate comfort and aero acoustics
* Extensive knowledge of CFD impact on product development
* Strong record of technical innovation/contribution/leadership resulting in implementation of CFD methods in product development
* Experience from the Automotive industry, or a genuine interest in cars
* Experience as a leader/project manager is meritorious
* Fluent in English (written and spoken)
