About us
Volvo Cars is on an ambitious journey when it comes to electrification, aiming for 50% of global sales to be pure electrified by 2025. To ensure we can achieve and sustain a strong position in the market as an electrified OEM, it is critical to have a solid set up for how to handle aftermarket challenges. Car Service Operations have implemented Battery Centers in each region to secure battery pack replacement supply for the aftermarket as well as fulfilling Volvo Cars strategy for electric vehicle batteries post 1st life. Our ART Battery Life Cycle Service purpose is to ensure hassle free usage for consumers by creating maximum value throughout the Battery lifecycle. 
Battery Lifecycle Services manage analysis, repair/remanufacture and storage as well as build BEV and PHEV battery packs for re-use in vehicles. Our activities include Repurposing (BESS) applications, battery take back of severely damaged batteries and logistic solutions.

What you will do
As a member of a cross-funtional team you will work on a wide variety of Epics and Features relating to the recycling of traction batteries.
Your tasks include but are not limited to:
•    Assist Global Technical support in fault tracing HV battery packs.
•    Perform risk and safety analysis of HV batteries specially focusing on the logistics of High risk batteries.
•    Develop technical solutions to neutralize a high risk battery and make it safe for transportation.
•    Testing and validation for handling high risk HV batteries.

This is a small selection of what you will be doing but we place high value on flexibility and taking on new challenges

You and your skills
You who have a University degree, preferably in Chemistry, Material Science or equivalent or experience.
You have a big interest and knowledge of Lithium-ion battery technology and experience in working with battery safety and durability testing. Experience in testing and validation of battery packs and modules for safety is also one of recruirements for this role.
Furthermore, its meritorious if you have experience working with technical support and developing solutions for retailer network.
Knowledge about handling high risk batteries in accordance with ADR, UN 3480 (Dangerous goods) and experience of working agile are also meriterious.
Communicating both orally and written in English is important.

You are solution orientated and able to make clear recommendations and take decisions. 
You can colloaborate and easily interact both within and outside your team including external partners, are customer focused, committed to quality and have prioritization skills to delivery in time.
You are action oriented and continuously working to improve processes with focus on safety and efficiency.
