Technical Support Engineer within Building Codes and Standards

A Snapshot of Your Day 

You will be providing support in the sales bid phase, but also in the order execution phase. The work includes analyzing and scrutinizing customer specifications, understanding the impact on deviations compared to our standard products, and possible additional work that needs to be done to comply. As Siemens Energy deliver products on a global market, the assignments will be diverse. Additionally, you will also work with updates on our internal design criteria documents that form the basis for structural calculations of our structures.

 You will be part of our vision to drive innovation and development with high competence within our field and work agile and efficiently in a diverse set of projects.

 

How You’ll Make an Impact

* You will work in an environment with challenging and diverse assignments within the mechanical integrity field with focus on providing technical support related to country specific building codes and standards.
* Identify the work needed to comply to a country specific building codes and/or additional customer requirements that can be site specific for the complete gas turbine package.
* You will overview, investigate and compare codes and standards, and adapt our internal codes and standards design criteria to new revisions and updates when released.
* Technical assistance in projects reviewing technical documentations from suppliers such as foundation loads, calculation reports.
* Become an expert in technical questions related to environmental loads affecting structures, such as seismic loads and wind loads based on different codes and standards.
* Be able to see the big picture, estimate additional deliverables to comply with customer needs.

 

What You Bring

 A passion for technology and find challenges motivating. You like to solve technical problems and are analytical in your way of working.
* You thrive on immersing yourself in detail.
* You are a team player, organized and structured with a good sense of prioritization to efficiently deliver results in time.
* YSome experience in codes and standards, such as IBC/ASCE/Eurocodes/DNV/NORSOK or others, which is seen as a merit.
* Good communication skills, as the role include building tight relationships with internal and external customers.
* Sc or M.Sc. within mechanics, applied physics or similar is preferable.
* Swedish and English skills, both oral and written.
