Who are we?
Volvo Autonomous Solutions (VAS) is the business area within Volvo Group that accelerates the development, commercialization, and sales of autonomous solutions. The vision for Volvo Group is to be the most desired and successful transport and infrastructure solution provider in the world. We don’t sell trucks and machines: we operate the solutions through the full life cycle to maximize the improvements achievable through autonomy.
That goes hand in hand with our long-term ambitions: 100% Safe, 100% Fossil free and 100% more productive. The automation of our vehicles is seen as a natural step towards reaching that goal. Joining the Volvo Group means contributing to a large global company that is transforming itself towards these ambitions. We are committed to diversity and inclusion, fostering a team culture where differences are seen as a stepping-stone to better results.

You will work alongside a talented group of colleagues who respect each other’s differences and seek to understand fresh perspectives.
We are an equal opportunity employer with office locations in Sweden and in the US. Whoever and wherever you are we strive to offer you flexibility and work-life balance to enable high engagement and fulfillment in both your professional and personal life.
What's the role?
The primary responsibility of this role is to resolve technical problems for the Autonomous Transport System (ATS), enhancing system availability while minimizing costs.
Handling technical issues reported via our case handling system, email, and phone is a core aspect of our support operations, ensuring customers receive timely assistance. For major issues from Customer Implementation Projects (CIPs), we document cases in detail and report to the Uptime Response Team, preparing them for the Product Maintenance process.
Regular, documented customer visits are crucial for follow-up on technical problems and urgent troubleshooting, helping maintain strong customer relationships. Collaborating with the Operations Manager, we follow up on product updates to keep our offerings current and effective. We work closely with technical writers and maintainability engineers to ensure operator, parts, service, and repair information is always up-to-date.
As the primary contact for fault-tracing requests, we quickly identify and resolve issues. Our involvement in development projects includes providing technical support, defining requirements, and conducting Fault Mode & Effect Analysis (FMEA), contributing to high ATS maintainability.
In Life-Cycle Cost work, we propose alternative technical solutions to enhance machine, vehicle, and system maintainability, optimizing operational efficiency and reducing long-term costs. Ensuring the initial stock of spare parts for CIPs readiness guarantees projects are equipped to handle technical challenges.
Committed to continuous improvement, we enhance our uptime support processes, aiming to provide exceptional service and support. As a team member, you contribute to overall responsibilities, working within the Transport Systems and Machines/Vehicles team in Volvo Autonomous Solutions’ Product organization, initially based in Sweden.
Who are you?
You have prior broad experience in a relevant field such as aftermarket or the automotive industry.
Previous experience of Volvo Trucks and/or Volvo Construction Equipment is a merit.
What might seem like a challenge to others, is an opportunity for you. If you recognize yourself in this description, you are probably who we are looking for. We are excited to know how you could contribute.
It is very important that you are a team player and can contribute to a great teamwork spirit. We believe you have a natural ability to collaborate in a multicultural company environment, creating strong links between our customers, commercial and technology teams.
We are actively working to establish teams that will take maximum advantage of the strength inherent to differences in knowledge, experience, age, gender, and nationality, among others. We find that well balanced work teams increase group dynamics, creativity, and new approaches to solutions.
