Technical Writer

Arbetsbeskrivning

About the job
It’s an exciting time to join Nordic Semiconductor as we continue our rapid growth while pursuing high ambitions with dedicated colleagues worldwide. We are now looking for a technical writer to join our team and help produce great documentation for our expanding range of wireless devices and software solutions. The Technical Publications team plays a critical role in introducing the customer to our world-leading products, ensuring that users can find the information they need quickly and efficiently. We use a wide range of tools and markup/down languages to create our documentation, including DITA, reStructuredText (RST), Git, and Doxygen. As a team, we have different areas of specialization and depending on your skills and experience you will either work mostly in a software environment or focus more on our hardware documentation. The position can be located at any of our R&D offices in Europe (Trondheim, Oslo, Oulu, Stockholm, Krakow, Swindon). In this role, you will benefit from receiving close and willing support from your colleagues and also the flexibility and trust to bring your own ideas forward in an open and positive environment.
Key responsibilities
Creating conceptual content, including how-to user guides and application descriptions
Documenting new functionality and reviewing existing documentation
Working closely with engineers towards creating and publishing documentation to tight deadlines
Contributing to continuously improving usability
Using internal and external feedback to make changes to documentation dynamically

Qualifications and skills
Degree or certification in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience
Minimum 2 years’ experience writing documentation
Experience with either DITA, markdown, or RST
Experience working in an agile environment
Experience working directly with technical subject matter experts
Written and verbal communication skills in English

Personal skills
As the Technical Publications team is distributed across offices, we are looking for a team player with both strong collaboration skills and the ability to work independently. We are more interested in your aptitude rather than your level of experience. We believe that you have an interest for technology, software and wireless solutions. We hope that you are curious to learn, eager try out new things and continuously improve, while acknowledging that failure is an important part of learning. Multitasking and prioritization are skill-sets you are required to develop together with time management skills, but with your genuine interest in performing to the highest of your ability, you will be given time to grow into your role.
Working for Nordic
Working for Nordic Semiconductor, you will be challenged, inspired and supported. Our teams enjoy a professional and informal working environment. We value and encourage continuous development of skills and expertise to the highest levels. We are proud of our Norwegian heritage, our highly skilled international workforce, world-leading innovation and professional excellence. We offer a variety of tasks and projects and the possibility to work alongside some of the world’s leading experts within their field. We encourage our employees to challenge the established and dare to innovate, while expecting high performance, dedication and the will to learn.
