Technical Writer

Infinera is looking for Technical Writers to deliver quality customer documentation that contributes to the overall success for Infinera products.

At Infinera, customer experience is a key to success and you will hold a position where your efforts have immediate impact.

The technical writer will be responsible for creating and delivering user documentation for Infinera products within the optical networking domain.

The technical writer is expected to work directly with cross-functional teams including product developers, system testers, product owners and customer service staff. We think you have at least 5 years of experience in technical writing, is well versed with XML authoring tools, and have experience or knowledge of DITA.

The customer documentation language is English and you must therefore be able to write high quality documentation in English without assistance.

Education & Experience Necessary for Success:
University degree in electronics, computer science, physics, technical information, informatics or related
Basic knowledge in telecommunications and general networking
Excellent verbal and oral English skills
Capable of authoring descriptive texts, step-by-step manuals and online help
Flexibility, able to work on more than one project and with multiple interface partners
Interest in future information concepts and strategies


Your responsibilities:
Create and maintain user documentation like Technical Descriptions, Installation and Configuration manuals and online help. 
Collaborate with relevant teams and stakeholders to collect and interpret inputs to create quality content aligned with agile software and hardware development. 
Coordinate the review and approval process for new and modified information. 
Research and evaluate tools and improve documentation processes.
