Arbetsbeskrivning
In the ever-expanding world of digitizing, we secure the new society that emerges. Nexus’ Smart ID solutions and IoT platforms are transforming how we perceive trusted identities. We provide cutting edge technology to high demanding global clients. Do you want to be a part of our journey?
Nexus is a high-tech company within the security industry. We have clients and partners around the world, and we need to ensure they are up-to-date with our solutions, so they can utilize the full power of Nexus Smart ID concept.
Therefore, we are looking for a technical writer and information architect to help us make sense of all our services and the documentation we produce.
This role will be located at our HQ in southern Stockholm (Telefonplan).
What will you be doing at Nexus?
As a technical writer, you will be part of a small team of two that are working closely with almost all parts of Nexus, but with a focus on our Engineering department and the product owners. You and your colleague are responsible for all activities connected to product documentation, our public Confluence site Doc (https://doc.nexusgroup.com/display/PUB/Smart+ID+Identity+Manager) and from time-to-time support our great marketing team when it comes to technical writing for our external website.
This means that you will collaborate with relevant stakeholders and collect the information you need to produce new documentation from scratch (for example on use cases and product overviews) as well as ensuring a correct and updated document library and adopting a minimalist approach to ensure searchability and enable easy maintenance.
You will also be the system owner for our Doc site, which is managed in Confluence, including user management, maintaining stylesheets, Confluence apps, etc.
As an important part of product development, you will need to drive your agenda. You know product development is not done until the last comma is put in place in the release notes. And it’s important that you are comfortable preaching this, to less structured colleagues.
You also know that sometimes text is not the best media to transfer information., Sometimes illustrations and videos are the way to go, and even though you are not Picasso, you will be expected to be able to create basic illustrations or videos to support our quest for transparent and available information for everyone.
Who are you?
The beauty and the challenge in this role is the diversity of it. You will need to be a jack of all trades when it comes to technical writing and information architecture. You will also be the one who sets the agenda. With this said, we think it’s important that you have quite a bit of experience in this field.
We also think it’s a great advantage if you have an academic background (degree) within either Information and Media or a technical degree of some sort. But you need to have plenty of experience with the other side as well. To be concrete, if you have a technical background, you still need to be more or less flawless in text structure, how to write editorial and general best practice when it comes to technical writing. And if you come from the info/media path, you need to be down with the terms and lingo connected with software development. So much so that you can identify elements in code (read basic code).
As a person, you are structured without being stiff. You will need to be able to handle multiple stakeholders, information sources and work needs. This also means you should be creative and like to drive your work. No one will tell you how to do your job, you need to be the expert here.
Nexus is an English-speaking company and most of the text you will be working with is in English, so almost fluency in English is a must (work-tests might be required). We do still have a lot of documentation requests in Swedish, and therefore fluency/almost fluency in Swedish is also required.
