MAX IV is a Swedish national large-scale research laboratory hosted by Lund University. It provides scientists from Sweden as well as internationally, with state-of-the-art instrumentation for research in areas such as engineering, physics, structural biology, chemistry and nanotechnology. Fully developed it will receive more than 2 000 scientists annually, conducting ground-breaking experiments in materials and life sciences using the brilliant X-ray light.
Your team
In the Automation team, we work with producing electrical schematics, functional documentation, and software integration for all machines within the Lab.
Supporting the research community in building and integrating their machines to the facility, with focus on keeping machines and people safe.

MAX IV are looking for a technical writer to join our team. As an ideal candidate, you have proven experience in a highly technical field, such as software development or electrical engineering. You have a great ability to evaluate and analyse complex information, and you have a natural desire to help people understand things that are hard to understand.
Your main work tasks will be
Working with technical documentation. You will be working closely with researchers to investigate and find solutions and describe how the research machinery should function.
Evaluating current content and develop innovative approaches for improvement.
Manuals for operations and maintenance.
To be successful in this role you need to have the following qualifications
- At least five years of work experience in the automation industry
- Three years of technical writing experience
- Experience with PLC programming
- Able to read and understand electrical wiring diagrams
- Experience with machine safety applications
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Below are seen as merits
- Experience with Rockwell Automation products.
- Experience with Eplan P8
- Knowledge in Machine Directive 2006/48 EC, Swedish Work Environment Authority's regulations on machines AFS 2008-3 and Use of work equipment AFS 2006: 4
- Experience with LaTeX.
As a person you must be able to cooperate, take initiatives, and be flexible, structured and quality conscious. You must be fluent in Swedish and English both spoken and written.
