TASKS

As a Technical Writer, you'll work closely with our Software Development and Product groups, while also collaborating regularly with other geographically dispersed Global Communications team members. This position provides opportunities to contribute that go beyond just writing. Key responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain an understanding of INVIDI’s users, both internal and external, to inform documentation design and development.
- Write DITA-based content for online delivery.
- Collaborate with development teams in an Agile environment.
- Plan, develop, and publish user and developer documentation within an iterative development cycle.
- Develop and publish system overview documentation independent of scrum teams.
- Develop and hone product knowledge through hands-on use of the product and by interviewing subject matter experts.
- Synthesize complex information into understandable user content.
- Continuously improve the quality of existing documentation by changing its architecture and content in response to feedback from engineers, support staff, internal users, and customers.
- Assist the Support team with documentation issues reported by customers.
- Adhere to our corporate branding, style, terminology, and the DITA Information Model.
- Participate in the Technical Communications Team meetings to drive continuous improvement.
- Provide peer reviews to edit, standardize, and enhance INVIDI’s content and technical documentation.
- Use JIRA, Confluence, RingCentral, and Slack to interact with other departments and manage content-related tasks.
- Create graphics, diagrams, and flow charts to illustrate technical content and increase users’ understanding.

You must have:

- 3+ years’ experience in technical writing.
- Ability to understand complex things and connect the dots and then to distill complicated concepts into simple, understandable formats.
- Strong sense of ownership and responsibility, and a willingness to step outside your (writing) role.
- Excellent English grammar and writing skills.
- Experience with Scrum and Kanban, and Agile software documentation development.
- Ability to thrive in collaborative environments.
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant work experience.




It will be very good if you have experience in:

- Experience with DITA and XML.
- Experience with version control, Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket), and docs-as-code.
- Experience with component content management systems (CCMS).
- Experience with minimalism, task-focused content development, and structured authoring.
- Courageous and has an appetite to learn new things fast.
- Strong focus on the customer and user experience.
- Well-developed problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- An unconditional insistence on accuracy. Refusal to accept mediocrity.
- Endless curiosity about how the world works and how one can improve one’s company and community.
- Experience writing for online delivery.
- Familiarity with the IBM Style Guide.
- Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
- Knowledge of (or ability to quickly learn) online video advertising, cable, and satellite technology.
