Cerner is a global leader in the development and deployment of software-based solutions that support clinicians and healthcare professionals in the delivery of healthcare within hospitals and healthcare organistions worldwide. Access to these solutions is provided through Cerner managed data centre hosted offerings or alternatively in a number of cases, clients taking on hosting responsibilities utilising their own data centre facilities.
With the recent growth of the Cerner’s business in Sweden, we are looking for a Technology Architect to join an exciting project for Region Västra Götaland (VGR). This involves the deployment of an integrated digital healthcare environment, replacing many of its existing IT systems in hospitals and primary care facilities with a comprehensive solution hosted on the client’s local infrastructure. The new system will support clinical processes to manage the health of the region’s 1.6 million citizens providing clinicians with access to a modern integrated digital care system for increased patient participation, safer patient experience and improved work environment for healthcare professionals.
As a Technology Architect, you will be working as part of a team of technical architects but central in ensuring that designs reflect business needs for the client, are compliant with the contract and can be delivered in the timeline for taking the various phases live. You’ll be working closely with project teams, client and Cerner:
· The ideal candidate should have extensive and demonstrable experience with design, development, configuration and maintenance of database systems.
· Support and implement clustering, RAC, high availability, Always On, backup, recovery, data guard, OEM and performance tuning.
· Strong experience in managing Linux / Unix systems.
· Architect and implement systems, solutions and services.
In depth technical experience of the following areas is required:
· Databases – Oracle Databases
· Storage – ASM, Veritas, EMC / Dell SAN, NFS
· Operating System – Linux / Unix
· Language – SQL, Bash or other shell scripting languages
The role will involve producing clear and concise documentation adhering to ITIL framework to define system components and ensure that supporting lower level design assets have been created for the full project lifecycles.
This position is based in Gothenburg.
Basic Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information Systems and Management Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
· At least 4 years of System Engineering or Technical Consulting work experience
Preferred Experience:
· Oracle or any other database related Certifications
· Linux / Unix Certifications is desirable
· 3 years of experience working with Oracle. Knowledge of MySQL and MS SQL is a plus.
· 3 years of experience on Linux / Unix.
· Experience with large and high scale databases.
· Knowledge in supporting SAN storage platforms.
Expectations:
· Willing to work overtime or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
· Ability and willing to travel up to 80%, based on relative location of client premises
