För kunds räkning söker vi nu en tekniker inom fiberoptik. Vår kund är en av de största leverantörerna av data-, telefoni- och administrerade tjänster för kunder inom näringslivet och den offentliga sektorn i Europa. Tjänsten presenteras på engelska och som tekniker har du två roller att fylla: Installation Technician samt Field Support Technician. Ansökan skall vara på engelska och tjänsten är belägen i Stockholm. Our client's own description of the job position: Main Purpose of Role Installation Technician: Work with a minimum of supervision to deliver digital and analogue services to a demanding business customer base using fibre optic/SDH technology. Services offered range from 2 meg to high bandwidth SDH, LAN and IP services using a variety of equipment to deliver the required services. The role includes Customer and Node Installations and 24hr Maintenance cover on a week on week off basis. Field Support Technician: Field maintenance support and fault rectification for all our services, ranging from sub 2 MB to 622 MB in bandwidth, over our fibre optic network. These services are delivered to our demanding customer base using the latest SDH, LAN, ATM and Frame Relay technologies. A Maintenance Technician is also required to provide technical assistance for all our customers. Key Tasks and Accountabilities Core Tasks Installation Technician: To customise, build, configure, transport to customer site, install, commission, test and hand-over across the full range of equipment, giving end-to-end accountability for post-order delivery of customer service anywhere in the UK. This position would suit someone who is able to demonstrate initiative, flexibility and team working skills with excellent customer focus and commercial awareness. Field Support Technician: To be responsible for the rectification of faults within company-driven timescales, on all our owned equipment and network. To provide technical assistance to customers, both internal and external. To participate in all preventative maintenance programmes aimed at ensuring pre-defined levels of quality, on all our owned equipment. To record and communicate progress and development on all faults and issues, in a timely manner. Additional Responsibilities Participate in a shift pattern and a call-out rota (if required), which may involve unsociable hours and overtime, as a requirement to meet the business needs Role Requirements Skills PDH/SDH fibre optic systems (Nortel / Marconi) Primary muxes (ideally, those manufactured by Nokia and Nortel) Analogue & digital voice services - leased, DASS 11, DPNSS and CAS Datacomms services - X21, G703, V24 Ethernet & Token Ring LANs. Understanding and use of DACCS equipment Use of test equipment for fault finding and analysis An extremely high level of customer focus and professionalism. Willing to undertake overtime and work unsociable hours. Willing and able to accept responsibility and become a key contributor to the team Self-reliant combined with being a strong team player A commitment to maintaining high standards of quality even when under pressure Professional Qualifications Previous employment within a telecoms environment, providing or maintaining data and voice services to business communities. Preferably Telecoms specific qualification. No academic qualifications necessary.
