Drill Core Technician
About the company
Avannaa Exploration Services AB is a young and expanding company based in Kiruna. We are mineral exploration consultancy specialising in geological and geotechnical data collection and interpretation operating in Northern Sweden. We are now looking to recruit new members to our skilled and dedicated team of geoscientists and technicians.

The Role
We require support from a technician in the acquisition of geotechnical and geological data from drill core. Main duties will include:
● Preparation of drill core for geologists
● Drill core handling and organisation
● Planning daily work tasks
● Occasional field work

This is an exciting opportunity for somebody who wants to work with and learn mineral exploration and geological data collection.
Experience requirements
Previous experience working with drill core is not mandatory but will be viewed favourably. We require somebody with a positive attitude, is enthusiastic to learn new things and is a team player. Much of the information collected is numerical so being comfortable with numbers is advantageous.
Academic Qualifications
The candidate must have graduated from high school/gymnasium. The ability to communicate in English in both speaking and writing is mandatory, knowledge of Swedish is advantageous. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office tools is also required.
Location
The applicant will need to be Kiruna or Gällivare based. The work will be predominantly undertaken at our client’s drill core logging facilities in Kiruna or Gällivare.

1 year Time-limited contract
Salary: Monthly
Remuneration: Individual wage based on education and experience
Workdays: Monday-Friday regular office hours with occasional overtime.
