Malmö University Malmö University has 21 000 students and 1300 employees.We are multidisciplinary in both teaching and research and we have a special emphasis on active student learning and problem based learning.Malmö University has six multidisciplinary Schools: Health and Society, International Migration and Ethnic Relations, Arts and Communication, Teacher Education, Faculty of Odontology, and Technology and Society.School of International Migration and Ethnic Relations (IMER) At the School of International Migration and Ethnic Relations (IMER), we take a look at the larger picture; the fundamental global processes within society and the concrete and ever-changing consequences they have on society and individuals.We lecture and research in questions such as: democracy, human rights, migration, ethnicity, integration, peace and conflict, culture, human communication and language, morals and ethics.In all we have 100 employees and provide for 1500 students in various programmes and courses.More information on Malmö University: http://www.mah.se/templates/Page____12997.aspx More information on IMER: http://www.mah.se/templates/Page____13049.aspx More information on English at Malmö: http://www.mah.se/templates/Page____5136.aspx Duties The School of International Migration and Ethnic Relations (IMER) at the University of Malmö seeks to appoint a temporary lecturer, full time, to contribute to the teaching of its English undergraduate programme.The post has become available to cover permanent staff leave, and is available in the autumn semester only (1 September 2007 - 31 January 2008).The English programme is looking for someone to take particular responsibility for the delivery of units in two areas: academic writing (first year level), and contemporary literary/cultural theory (second year level).There will also be an opportunity to teach a thematic literary/cultural studies unit on a chosen specialisation (first year level), and to supervise a number of individual and group projects (first and second year levels). Eligibility Candidates for this position should have a PhD, or a PhD near completion, and some relevant teaching experience.As part of an interdisciplinary school of IMER, the English programme has a focus on questions concerning migration and ethnicity; a specialisation engaging with these issues in literature and/or cultural studies would be an asset.Reference number: IMER 2007/402-41 must accompany your application.
