Fixed term employment, 100%, during period 1 September 2016 to 28 February 2017 within the subject area Energy Technology, part of the School of Technology and Business Studies located in Borlänge, Sweden.
General Knowledge Field
Dalarna University offers four educational programmes in Energy Technology: Degree in Energy Technology, a two year Energy Technician programme, and both one year and two years Master Programmes. Due to upcoming parental leave there is a temporary post available within our teaching staff.
Employment Remit
The successful applicant will work as acting programme coordinator for both the one year and two year Master Programmes in Solar Energy. The successful applicant will also teach within these programmes, specifically within the areas of solar radiation, daylight and solar geometry. The successful applicant will also be responsible for the analysis of the prerequisites required in order to develop a new international master level educational programme within energy efficient construction. This work will include the creation of a proposal for the new educational programme as well as making an inventory of similar programmes already in existence within Sweden and in Europe. Further, there will be some teaching of energy courses within the Construction Programme, as well as collaboration with regional private and public organisations within the fields of energy and construction.
Qualifications
Competent , according Dalarna University employment regulations (anställningsförordningen), for appointment as lecturer the applicant must have:
- pedagogical skills
- Completed master's degree or adequate academic training or have other skills that are of relevance to the subject matter and the duties that the position will involve .
To qualify for this position, you must:
- have completed the Master Programme in Solar Energy at Dalarna University or equivalent.
- Undergraduate studies within construction, architecture, energy technology or similar are also a demand.
- for pedagogical reasons, documented proof of proficiency in English, both written and oral
It is of merit if you have:
- Postgraduate/doctoral studies as well as both research and teaching experience within the field.
- should have experience of international collaboration projects, as both the planned and current master level educational programmes are of an international character.
Further, the successful applicant will be open and willing to share their knowledge and experiences and be a well organised person. The successful applicant is able to work independently, take responsibility to ensure quality and results, has the ability to cooperate with others, and is able to see the overall picture.
Assessment criteria
The University will take in mind the applicant’s ability to perform the duties that come with the position by qualitatively assessing academic and pedagogical ability as well as other qualifications that are relevant for the position.
