Your role

As a Test Aircraft Coordinator, your role is to optimize the use of the test aircraft using a wide range of information. You will be in the centre of activities, working with a wide range of people from different areas of the organisation.

The role has many interfaces within Saab and gives you a broad knowledge of the product. Activities connected to ground- and flight test are affected by many variables. Some variables are tricky to control and need flexible planning with back-up alternatives. The planning is done in close cooperation with test pilots, test engineers, a/c mechanics, technical support, maintenance planning, test instrumentation engineers and project management.

We are moving in to an intense period in the flight test programme, with many test aircraft, and need to increase our number of Test Aircraft Coordinators.

A Test Aircraft Coordinator shall:

* Optimize the usage of the test aircraft
* Have knowledge of the test aircraft configuration
* Keep track of and plan mandatory and optional a/c changes
* Plan and manage test activities in the test aircraft, using Weekly- and Daily Schedule
* Offensive and proactive planning
* Have back up plans, handling different test results
* Coordinate with other Test Aircraft Coordinators, Operational Test Leader and Flight Test Program Manager
* Optimize test aircraft configuration based on current test request
* Manage an aircraft team

Your profile

You have a genuine interest in flight operations and are eager to learn. You are a team player with a strong integrity and the ability to work in an environment where changes can happen fast. You are a good communicator and want to manage an aircraft team in finding good solutions together.

This position requires that you will be approved in a security screening in accordance with the Swedish Protective Security Act.

What you will be a part of

Department Flight Test and Verification performs testing in most of the technology areas for Saab's flying systems and handles simulator-, rig-, ground- and flight test. The department has the responsibility to provide professional testing of aircraft systems and to manage flight operations and aircraft maintenance. Activities are mainly connected to the development of Gripen, but include all flight operation.

The department has about 250 employees, which include pilots, aircraft mechanics, test engineers, instrumentation engineers, s/w developers and more. Your role is part of section "Operational Management" within the Test Management office. The section includes test a/c coordinators, flight operations support, chief test conductor and operational test leader.

As a condition of employment, candidates will be required to participate in a background investigation and/or successfully demonstrate eligibility to receive applicable Government security clearance(s).
