Climate change is the ultimate safety test. Therefore, we at Volvo Cars are committed to going fully electric by 2030 and mastering the batteries is one of the main keys for us to success! We have taken a big step towards our aim by launching our first Battery Electric Vehicle, the XC40 P8 Recharge. It is powered by an in-house designed battery developed by our great battery team in Gothenburg, do you want to be part of the next step? We are now working on a new electric vehicle platform and several exciting products that all will be powered by Batteries designed and developed in-house.

Then the role as Test & Analysis Engineer in our Battery HW Testing Team is the place for you to prosper. We are looking for both you with a chemical background interested in testing the cell/module as well as you with an electro/mechatronic background interested in testing the complete battery systems!

Your Contribution
You will plan, order, prepare and analyze development and verification tests on high-voltage propulsion battery systems. The work is done in close collaboration with the team members, product owner, scrum master, team manager, system architects and test engineers in the test rigs. 

You will get the opportunity to work in our own state-of-the-art battery lab as well as using suppliers’ rigs. Some traveling to external test sites for support and fault tracing will occur.

Competence is Important
We see that you have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Mechatronics, Electrical or similar as well as a couple of years of experience from development within the automotive industry. You are comfortable using python or MATLAB to analyze your test result and have the ability to translate the results into theory. 

You will also need knowledge in Li-ion technology or relevant area within electric propulsion development. If you in addition have experience in test equipment and/or software development, it is star potential.

Personality is Key
You share our passion for future technology and have the ability to manage complexity in systems. You are a team player with great communication skills that enable you to collaborate with different teams so that you can make your own decisions and draw groundbreaking technical conclusions!
