Who are you & how will you make an impact?
The infrastructure organization provide Volvo Autonomous Solutions with software development tools, continuous integration and deployment capabilities, test automation frameworks, simulation technology and tools to utilize data efficiently.
As our company is growing, we are looking for new talents that want to put their skillset in our context. You enjoy working with new technologies, encourage and drive change and continuous improvement in the way of working, tools and processes.
As a Test Automation Engineer, you will be supporting our development and verification teams ensuring high product quality by automating and executing test plans. You will also be responsible of developing, enhancing and maintaining test automation frameworks and educate framework users. Further supporting design and building automated tests to ensure adequate and effective test coverage will be part of your role too. As well as assisting in system-, integration-, performance- and acceptance testing of new and amended systems.
In your daily work you will also participate in test driven development by delivering state of art testing tools and sharing the test results with our customers via dashboards. Integrating test automation with CI/CD machinery and test execution on different simulation environment will be included in this role too. Hence provide guidance and support to the colleagues on best practice in the sphere of test automation.
In order to thrive in this role, we expect that you have deep understanding of software architecture principles and good knowledge of all phases of the product development lifecycle. Your hands-on experience on software development and testing production software will be necessary in this role as well. Since you will be using object-oriented programming languages for test scripting and automation, we also expect you to be proficient in using those. However, experience in using Python is considered meritorious.
It is required with strong experience with one or more test frameworks, though having experience in Pytest, Robot, Junit are a plus. In addition, we see that you have experience from working in an Agile environment.
You hold a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, engineering or a related field. Moreover, we see that you have a collaborative and influential mindset with an ability to communicate at all levels and a proficient level in English, both written and spoken is required.
Further a good understanding of Linux OS, experience of working with DevOps tools such as GitLab, Docker, Kubernetes, ELK stack is an advantage, but not required.
