For our client within the automotive industry we are looking for a Test Automation Engineer
As a part of the Vehicle Sales Process, the product configuration tool is used by salesmen, order managers and customer adaptations experts when offering vehicles to customers. Vehicle specifications are created, with every part that the vehicle consists of including the pricing of each part. The vehicle specifications are used in communication with customers, as a base for billing and as input to production. The configurator is most likely one of the worlds most advanced kind of product configuration tools. It is built on an advanced regulatory framework and is fed with data that is authored in other tools, which makes necessary a complex combinatory testing effort. The application consists of a back-end solution in C# and a web based client.
There will be other similar solutions in the scope of this assignment.
The team
Today there is a team working in an agile setup, sitting together in an office landscape based in Gothenburg. The atmosphere is a true mix of professionalism and fun. The team works tightly together solving any problems in a cross-functional manner. The voice of everyone is considered an important success factor when it comes to quality. Being responsible for testing, the new team member is expected to maintain and advocate the high quality focus of the team.
Developers make constant use of unit tests and there are automated nightly builds. Manual testing is performed thoroughly and in an exploratory fashion – there are no written test cases in any manual test tool, which is a thought through decision. Regression testing is performed nearly 100% with Selenium in the C# language in Visual Studio.
The new team member
You need to have a deep interest in software development, testing and quality. Due to the automation strategy, a technical background is a must and the candidate would feel comfortable with programming basics in an object oriented language, preferably C# or Java/C++. The candidate is willing to join an experienced team to both learn and deliver within areas such as: planning, estimation, defect management, communication, test environment coordination, system integration testing, test automation etc. Experience from Selenium is a must.
Even though the team is located in Sweden, there are many other colleagues on other teams in different parts of the world. It is essential to be able to communicate in English, both spoken and written at an advanced level.
