About us
SEEL – Swedish Electric Transport Laboratory, a new test and research center for electrification, will open in the summer of 2023. SEEL is co-owned and co-managed by Chalmers University of Technology, and RISE – Sweden’s research institute – working alongside the industrial partners we need to make the transition to electromobility a success.

We will offer test, research and verification on energy storage, electric machines, drivelines and complete vehicle testing. The equipment will be brand new and when we welcome our clients at the opening day. In Nykvarn they will meet both a heavy-duty test cell for testing axles, transmissions and electrical machines. There is also a complete battery lab for testing cells, modules and packs. All this supported by on site workshops and offices.

We are now looking for a test cell engineer who will play an important part in developing SEELs Powertrain operations.

About the role
In the role as a powertrain test cell engineer, you will be responsible to develop and maintain rig functionality. You will also work with the rig up time and performance and quality assurance. Your main tasks will be to calibrate, run and maintain powertrain rigs. You will also take part in preparation and setup of test objects.  Our workplace safety is essential, and you will be securing operation that are both safe and with high quality. You will contribute to development of processes and methods and take part in preparation and setup of test objects.

The position is a permanent full-time employment at SEEL. You report to the Director Powertrain Testing and your team will be in Gothenburg and Nykvarn. Travel may occur.

Who are you?
We are looking for a test cell engineer with good understanding of the mechanical and electrical properties of a running rotating rig. You have a few years of experience - or even more. Your practical experience will be highly valued as well as your knowledge around typical test objects. You have a technical educational background. Driving license B is mandatory, C or/and D is beneficial. We communicate in Swedish or/and English, so you need to be fluent in at least one of the languages. However, good knowledge in English is a merit. Knowledge about test automation systems (especially AVL, PUMA or similar systems), supporting process systems, programming and/or measurement accuracy would be meritorious.

As a person you are responsive, result oriented and have both a holistic and go-get mindset. You are a team-player who contributes socially with a great deal of sensitivity. We need you to be a flexible and agile problem-solver with the ability to work on different tasks at the same time. This will be essential in the start-up phase, but also a success factor for the future. This position may be subject to a security review, during the recruitment process or later in the future.
