Test cell technician

Who are we at Volvo Group Trucks Technology and what is this job about?
At Volvo Group Truck Technology, we believe that the combustion engine will continue to play an important role for commercial transports for decades to come. Of cause with improved efficiency and sustainable fuels in the tank. We also develop battery and fuel cell electric drivelines to play an equally important role on the truck market in around 10 or 15 years.


We offer a job with variation – test planning and test execution in front of the measurement computers and test cell control computers together with specialist engineers – and hands on work with engines, gearboxes and measurement equipment in the test cell. As a lot of the job will be operational and working with the core of the engines, we believe it is important that you are hands-on and ready to do physical work.


We are a large team that work together to run 23 test cells. The team has a lot of knowledge and experience to share. Teamwork and helping each other is a signature for the team. In this position you will work with sound, vibrations, emissions and performance. You will measure all four components and work with the specialist engineers to develop our products to meet internal product targets and legal requirements.


Who we believe you are:
This position is for someone who is broad enough to have good knowledge or experience from both combustion engines and electrical drivelines as well as sound and vibration measurements. However – the most important competencies to bring are analytic skills, problem solving skills, communication skills and ability to drive improvements of your own competence and our ways of working and working environment.


You have an engineering education or other relevant experience, for example from working with testing or engines. You are a flexible team player, a quick learner and have a driving, positive, can-do attitude.
