We are looking for a Test Engineer to join our team in testing our rocket engines to ensure that the quality and functionality of our products meet customer expectations. Our products are integrated on our customers satellites to provide crucial functionality on the platform level.


ECAPS AB is a leading manufacturer of rocket engines and the environmentally friendly fuel LMP-103S, a greener and safer alternative to conventional toxic rocket fuels. ECAPS currently exports rocket engines worldwide, including government agencies such as NASA and ESA. ECAPS High Performance Green Propulsion (HPGP ®) is a world-class product manufactured in Stockholm.


Your role
The role may include everything from test plan preparation, procedure detailing and testing of rocket engines produced by ECAPS. Testing includes verification of product functionality and workmanship as well as Hot Fire testing with propellants at external test facilities.
The test work is mostly conducted in clean room environments, except for environmental and hot fire testing. In addition to practical work with the thruster testing you will handle article inspection, handling of components and consumable materials in production, and possibly quality control. Test reporting is also part of the job.


Key responsibilities include;
Conduct testing of rocket engines safely and in accordance with approved procedures, tests include functional testing, vibration testing, hot fire testing alongside other tests.
Document test results recording the processes followed, results of test and any test occurrences or anomalies
Improve test procedures, plan and schedule testing, provide input to test plans



Your profile
You need to have the ability to work independently, as well as in an integrated team with continuous dialogue with other members of the test team and external persons. You are driven, methodical and can follow processes carefully and report any discrepancies. The tasks place high demands on quality awareness, repeatability, and documentation.

Requirements
- Structured and methodical
- Safety consciousness
- Knowledge of basic physics (mechanics, heat transfer, electricity, electromagnetism, gases and pressure, vacuum).
- Comfortable handling mechanical tools
- Interest in design and set up new tests and test equipment.
- Ability to write and follow procedures.
- Fluency in English and Swedish, both speech and writing.
- European Citizenship is required; Swedish nationality is a plus.
- Driving license.

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.


Meritorious
- Experience in a test or experimental environment.
- Experience in cleanroom environment.
- Experience with high pressure and vacuum systems.
- Experience with aerospace propulsion systems.
- Using and/or programming Labview and/or Python
- Using and/or building electronics.
- Signal processing.
- Data reduction and analysis.
- Test site and equipment maintenance and management (consumables, equipment calibration, etc.).


Location
- This is a permanent full-time position based in Stockholm, Solna. Travel to external test facilities will occur.
