Are you a hands-on person who enjoys to contribute to the development by testing?
The group Bus Chassis Testings growing and we are now hiring a test engineer within braking and chassis level control.
The responsibilities for the group is mainly a mirroring of the design areas for RBR Frame Structure and Chassis System. Additional responsibilities are the vehicle properties steering, handling, braking, mobility and ride & vibration comfort. Testing is being performed on a whole vehicle level, system level and in rig.
We, as a team, are active through the complete development process. Early in the projects we are contributing with requirements and method development, later with development test as well as verification and validation testing
As a test engineer at our group you will be a part of our team which today consist of seven test engineers, one test coordinator and a group manager. Within the group you will both be working independently and as a team to reach our goals. This sets the demand on each and everyone to commit, engage and lead themselves and colleagues towards set goals. With high participation and commitment, risk management and a direct action on deviations, we do this best together.
Working tasks
As a test engineer within braking and chassis level control you will work with all testing required for function development as well as verification of the brake system and chassis level control. In the job, testing with suppliers, authorities and climate testing such as winter test in the northern parts of Sweden is included. We cooperate with authorities and suppliers mainly in Europe, but also in other continents. Due to this traveling is a part of this job.
Within the team, we work partly on assignments from other groups and partly on assignments from ourselves from a property perspective. As a test engineer, you are the assignment leader for your test. You are responsible for planning, coordinating cross-functionally, carrying out, analysing, and reporting assignments. The role also includes supporting our field quality organization with investigations and troubleshooting.
To be successful in this job you need to have good communication skills and a good dialog with your cross functions. Typical cross functions for this job is mechanics, designers, calculation- and simulation teams and other cross function such as system and function owners, cert. engineers and other sister groups on truck side.
Your profile
We are looking for an engineer with a Master or Bachelor’s degree within a relevant area, e.g. mechanical or vehicle engineering. Knowledge within vehicle dynamics, advanced driving and experience with in the field of vehicle testing is meritorious.
Driver licence B with large experience is a demand and C and D is meritorious.
Knowledge regarding measurement technology and analysis of measurement data and metric processing is a part of the daily work and needed to be able to fulfil this job.
General computer skills on a fairly high level is a demand. Programming competence in Matlab, Python or competence with measurement system such as : CANape, IPEmotion and Dewesoft and Scanias diagnosis tool XCOM, Gadet, CDev and SDP3 etc is meritiorius.
As a person you are structured, thorough, initiative taking, responsive and enjoy to work hands-on. You are a team player with a big technical and vehicle interest who can work both independently and as a part of a team. It’s easy for you cooperate with other people and you have high knowledge in both written and spoken English, as well as at least basics in Swedish.
