The section Powertrain Systems Testing, is a section within the department "A&V Environments & BRAVe". Our main purpose is to operate and develop the department's test beds within; Engine and Transmission testing, Engine function and NVH Testing, Dynamic Powertrain Testing and Test Preparations & Methods. Our responsibility is to provide R&D with test beds and test equipment system in accordance with R&D needs with agreed solutions for capability and capacity over time.

We are now looking for a Test Engineer within Engine Function Testing. You will be part of the group Engine function and NVH testing that consists of 19 engineers responsible for 14 engine test beds. 12 of those test beds are used for engine function steady state testing and 2 for NVH testing. The steady state test beds are mainly used for base calibration of performance, emissions and fuel economy. Tests of different hardware setups and new concepts are also among our daily tasks. The daily tasks are very varied due to the fact that we are performing tests from early prototype stages to the final homologation of production engines. We handle several types of test equipment and measuring devices. We work closely with test engineers, mechanics, maintenance staff and other colleagues within the group.

Main responsibilities

* Be responsible for the daily operation of the test bed.
* To be responsible for test object to rig interfacing.
* Make sure all test equipment used is maintained and calibrated.
* To plan and prepare new tests in the test bed computer system.
* Continuous learning of new technology

Required qualifications

* B Sc. in Mechanical, Electronics or Mechatronics or equal experience
* A deep understanding of engine control systems
* Experience from engine test and optimization is meritorious
* Fluent in English, spoken and written
* Drivers license (B-level)

* Team player with strong communications skills
* A genuine interest of technology
* Able to work independently and take required actions on own initiative
* A fast learner with an analytical mind
