Test engineer for battery development wanted

Test engineer for battery development wanted

Arbetsbeskrivning

Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Do you want to join and drive the shift to a sustainable transport system?
Electrification is in a more exciting phase than ever! The demand for competitive, climate smart, transport solutions increases rapidly. Scania is now investing heavily in battery test capabilities within performance and safety. This to be able to meet the demand from our customers and society as a whole. We are now looking for a motivated, agile and curious engineer with mechatronic background and passion for electrification!

About

Our group is diverse with different skillsets and backgrounds that together creates a winning team. We cherish an open dialog and our task is to mine knowledge out of the tests that we run through analysis and discussion. We, Battery cell and module Testing, are responsible for testing batteries from single cells to sub pack level. We have the complete test responsibility and we execute most of it ourselves in our own state of the art labs. Safety and abuse capabilities for internal testing are under development.

Your tasks

This position is aimed to strengthen our team within module testing. In this area we:

• Deploy large test matrixes with the aim set to understand how different usage parameters affect
• Investigate how the mechanical constraints of the module and pack design affect the performance of the battery cells
• Evaluate how the embedded control and measurement systems integrated to the batteries perform as well as the state-determining algorithms on sub system level.
• Keep a constant dialog with test stake holders. This is key for a successful knowledge transfer; communication skills are important.
• Work actively with improving our methods on a continuous basis and have a culture that welcomes new ideas and approaches.

Your profile

As mentioned above, diversity is key for success! You are likely an engineer with a master within mechatronics. Experience from automotive industry or laboratory work is highly meriting. You might have a strong analytical mindset with programming skills that like to reverse engineer how stuff works. Or, perhaps your strengths might lie in being a practical person, be out in the field and get the show on the road, the more cables the better! Regardless of your strengths, you respect and listen to your colleges as much as you like to present your own neatly analyzed results.
