Position Description:
Marine Test Center within Product Development is looking for a Test-Verification Engineer within NVH and durability.
Imagine yourself working in an environment with great variety focus between project requirements from suppliers as well as customer requirements. Creativity and new ideas are a necessity in your day-to-day work and with cross-functional collaboration. At Volvo Penta we premier curiosity and innovation with an open-minded attitude as we know that is our key to success.
Do you have desire and energy to develop yourself, feel engaged by working within projects and reaching goals together with your colleagues? Do you feel satisfaction of having a complete view of product development from initial project phases up to the point of final product testing? If you have answered yes to any or multiple questions above, we are looking forward to reading your application!
This is what you will be doing
You will be working within testing and verification of both marine driveline systems as well as industrial applications. Tests and verification are everything from a specific component comparison measurement, a durability test or complete driveline and/or vehicle installation. You will plan the testing and conclude what necessary data is to be collected and how the test should be performed, perform the test either in test-cell or a true application scenario and conduct the analysis which is to be reported into a test report.
The data acquisition systems and software you will be using are Siemens LMS Testlab, Dewesoft, Glyphworks and Matlab.
Who are you?
We are looking for candidates with passion and ability to provide direction and guidance in our development work, a team member who is interested in technology development in general, but preferably towards testing and optimization of power systems and drivelines which aims to become the world leader in sustainable power solutions. Since the job consists of cross functional collaboration as well as external networking, your ability to be a team-member and networking skills are highly valued.
We believe that you have experience with technical acoustics, structural vibrations or fatigue analysis with underlaying knowledge in Fourier analysis. We also believe that you are familiar with measurement equipment that involves accelerometers, microphones, strain gauges, torsional sensors, distance sensors or force transducers.
Requirements:
You should have a university degree within mechanical or electro engineering as well as acoustics.
Some experience in driveline/powertrain testing & verification.
You should be able to communicate in both English and Swedish.
Have a valid driver license.
It is beneficial if you have previous experience in durability and CAE.
THIS IS US
Marine Test Center within Product Development is responsible for testing, verification and validation of both Hardware and Software of all our drivelines.
At Marine Test & demo center we are around 30 creative and positive colleagues divided into two teams. We work in a beautiful place called Krossholmen, with a marine environment and we work with awesome products! We believe that the key to success is team work and a work environment where we encourage each other to take individual responsibility. Hmm, that seems like a pretty strange equation to me, you might think. Individual and team work at the same time. Well, I thought so too before I started here. But that is actually the truth. At Volvo Penta we also always encourage people to be creative. Because in a changing environment as the one we are now facing we can't know everything.
Our trademark at Volvo Penta is innovation as we are always looking for fresh ideas, and your attitude and mindset will be a key asset for us. We strive for gender balance as we believe that actively prioritizing a high level of diversity in our workforce creates competitive advantage.
It is our people that make the difference!
