About us, Testing for Powertrain Installation in Buses
We are the team within Scania Bus Development that are responsible for testing the powertrain installation. Our responsibility involves testing system performance as well as complete buss installations. The work covers the full field of powertrains for bus, electrical drive trains as well as combustion engines.
We work with testing and analysing the temperatures, pressures and flows mainly within the engine compartment. We also handle testing for energy consumption and gear shifting performance.

Your assignment
The powertrain installation is a key factor for the overall performance of the bus. Your everyday work will include questions minimizing the environmental impact of our vehicles and improving the performance for our customers.
The work involves installation of the latest technologies. It will also be a combination of hands-on work with measurement systems and theoretical analyses of the result.
You will work with planning, preparing and performing tests for temperature, pressure and flow of air and coolants. You will also make reports for the tests performed and present the result to others. Since our challenges varies dependent of project, you will be part of a variety test areas as your experience increases.
Our work includes close cooperation with design engineers within bus as well as cross functional with other R&D departments (engine, exhaust after treatment, gearbox, electric etc). We work close to the bus workshop.
Since the group have responsibilities and competence within several areas you will be able to get profound support in your profession and also be able to contribute with your expertise in a wide range of technical challenges.
Your profile
You are a graduate engineer with a master or bachelor degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent. Experience within mechanical engineering is valued, especially within the area of testing and powertrain installation. Drivers licence is mandatory.
As a person you are positive, committed and you get motivated by finding solutions to problems. We value your analytical skills and since the work requires a cross functional way of working you have good collaborative and communication skills.
