Business description
The Volvo gearbox I-shift, AMT, is a unique selling point for Volvo Group truck brands Volvo, Renault and Mack and to maintain and to further develop the product, gearbox projects have been and will be continue to be launched. The gearbox platform development is made in Gothenburg, Sweden. The Driveline & Electro mobility testing group is responsible for the development testing and the verification testing.

Job description
As a test engineer at the testing group you will be directly involved in the development work of gearboxes.

As test engineer you will come in contact with a wide range of analysis and verification assignments. You will work in a test environment that stretches from test cells of different complexity up to complete vehicle level. Your test assignments will vary from classic mechanical testing such as fatigue test or performance test at component level up to testing of HW with integrated SW functions for the transmission system in a complete vehicle. Your different test assignments require test methods and test requirements that need to be developed and/or updated. This test method development will be a part of your assignment and responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
Contribute to the technology development by presenting results from tests and propose product improvements. In more details this means that you prepare and run tests, analyze test results and present your findings. Develop new tests and test methods.

Qualifications and skills
Fluent in English and Swedish, both oral and written is a requirement.
Knowledge in measurement technology is a requirement.
Driving license for truck C, CE and for bus D, DE is an advantage.
Experience from automotive technology development is an advantage.
Programming skills is a merit.

Education
University degree preferable Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Applied Physics or similar education, combined with relevant working experience.

Personal profile
Since test engineers interact with many colleagues good communication skills and good co-operation ability is needed.
Since problem solving is a part of the job you need analytical skills.
Since tests are run in test rigs you need practical skills to get the job done.
Strong driving force and ability to work independent is of course a merit.
