Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

In this role, you will focus on power distribution, electronics and charging. 

For our electrified vehicles, the perceived quality, performance, and usability of our power distribution and charging system are crucial to creating trust in new technology for our customers. Building this trust will be important to support our customers on their journey to sustainability.

Furthermore, having charging systems and functions that are both safe, efficient and seamless will be an important differentiator for our competitors, and that will create premium value for our customers.

To accomplish that we need the right test capabilities and competence and therefore are we looking for an ambitious and driven Test Engineer that will help us to define and build our future test capabilities for high voltage Power Distribution architecture, Charging systems and Power Electronics.

Who we are

Workshop & Prototypes (UECW – VCB) is a group responsible for building vehicle and component prototypes and all corresponding tests on both component and vehicle levels in terms of both hardware, software and charging services.

Tests are carried out in both Trucks & Busses but also in-house on test benches or at specific external test sites. The group consists of different capabilities with skills from mechanical HW rebuilds to Software skilled engineers with deep insights into both vehicle functionality and test equipment and test methodologies.

The group consist of Test Engineers, Vehicle Electricians and Vehicle Mechanics.

Our collaborations span several departments at Scania R & R&D and towards other brands within TRATON.

About the role

As a Test Engineer, you will work closely together with system and component owners to identify test needs to verify and validate our charging and power distribution design, both on component level and complete vehicle level. The work also consists of deep analysis and teardown on new technologies and benchmarking activities within the high voltage charging and power distribution area. 

You will in your role:


• Develop test cases
• Set test plans
• Plan and design testbench or test vehicles
• Prepare the test object with the necessary test equipment
• Conduct testing
• Summarize and analyse the results
• Propose improvements based on test results for system and function owners

Who you are

You are a dedicated team player who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment. You easily take initiative even with little instructions and find motivation in developing the best way forward in cooperation with others. You are communicative and good at navigating between theory and practice.

You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and previous experience within Power Electronics, Battery Electric vehicles or Testing.

You are fluent in English, speaking and writing.
