Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Scania is undergoing a big technical transformation, away from the traditional fossil fuelled trucks and buses towards electrified and autonomous vehicles.

Team Brake performance is responsible for brake- and performance testing on Scania trucks and drives the development of the brake system. The teams consist of both engineers and mechanics.  The team members have deep knowledge and experience within the brake system and are responsible for the brake performance at Scania as a whole. Our goal is to develop a brake system with correct performance, quality and functionality and with the highest safety. We are also responsible for fulfilling the latest legislation and certification needs.

With the increased number of projects and initiatives affecting the brake system we see a need to increase our capability in the development of brake system and brake certification/homologation. Especially within the area of Special vehicles.

Your role

As a test engineer within brake performance and certification you will together with a team of experienced colleagues develop, test and homologate the EBS/ABS system on Scania trucks. You will take the main responsibility for running the assignments connected to the area of Special vehicles. You will also take part in the teams bigger development projects connected to EBS/ABS.

Special vehicles consists of smaller production series that are tailor made to specific customer demands. These vehicles are based on our general configurations but changed in ways that often requires updated functionality in the brake system and updated homologation. You will work closely together with several cross functions within the organisation to make these assignments happen.

Your work will mainly consist of:


• Coordinate assignments together with the special vehicle department and system and function owners of the brake system.
• Perform testing/homologation on complete vehicles on the Scania test track, as well as going to winter test and test tracks at our brake system suppliers.
• Coordinate homologation test with Scania certification department and with our legislation authority RDW in Holland.
• Analyse and document test results. Handle certification documentation.
• Have close contact and cooperation with our suppliers of brake system.
• Take part in our day to day business with supporting the organisation in brake related matters

Your profile

We are looking for someone that wants to learn and develop one of the most complex systems on our trucks. You are engaged and committed to your work. You take your own initiatives and use your curiosity and logical thinking to navigate through different problems. By others you are described as a fast learner , thorough, analytic, communicative and flexible. You are a team player with an open and collaborative mindset

Requirements:


• Bachelor or master degree within relevant engineering area.
• Experience of brake system development (EBS/ABS)
• Experience of brake homologation for heavy trucks
• Driver license for heavy trucks C and/or CE and more than 1 year driving experience of heavy trucks for development purpose and homologation, for example on test tracks.
• Experience of working with systems like Matlab, CANalyzer, IPEtronic or similar.
• You can express yourself fluently in English.

Since our certification agency and brake system suppliers are located outside of Sweden traveling will be expected to some extent.
