Test Engineer within energy consumption

YDMB has an important role within technical product planning in securing that we continue to offer the world’s best products with the highest customer value to our customers. By continuous identification and tracking of Scania’s present and future product properties, compared to Scania references and our competitors, gaps are identified and the right actions can be taken to meet our ambition levels.  

The group's responsibility constitutes a cornerstone in our Property driven development. The work is divided into the subareas; Benchmarking & competitor analysis, Press test, Acceptance evaluation test, and Energy Consumption testing.

Together the group holds a lot of knowledge and possesses various skill sets. We have an open and supportive atmosphere where there are no foolish questions.

 

Role and responsibilities

You will be part of the Energy Consumption Test Team in which the main responsibilities are:


• Plan, prepare, and execute energy consumption tests both on a chassis dynamometer and on public roads
• Develop our test methods
• Analyse test results and spread knowledge within R&D
• Provide fact based knowledge of Energy Consumption on a complete vehicle level for both Scania vehicles and competitors
• Support the press test organization when it comes to press test preparations

Your profile

You are structured, methodical and analytical and have good planning skills. Your work will be presented at various sections, departments and technical meetings. Therefore you should be comfortable giving presentations in both English and Swedish

As a test engineer you are used to a mix of both theoretical and practical work.

You are also a team player who enjoys cross-functional collaboration and you have a high level of flexibility and are able to handle unforeseen events in a professional way. You have great technical interest and a good complete vehicle knowledge.

You have good knowledge of Excel and Matlab as these are the main tools used when analysing the data collected during the tests. It is also good if you have experience with software used for data acquisition, like ATI Vision, Dewesoft or INCA.

Driver’s license C, CE, and driving experience is a merit.
