Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.To be a global champion, Scania and the Traton group must have a presence in one of the world’s biggest commercial vehicle markets: China.

Scania has decided to establish a third industrial hub in China with the capacity to produce some 50 000 vehicles per year. Alongside building a new factory and an expansion of the sales network we will also establish a local R&D organization in China. Our mission in R&D Industrial Operations Asia is to develop trucks specially adapted for the Chinese market, the biggest commercial vehicle market in the world.


The work will be carried out by a dedicated organisation – which will develop and manage the products over time. The organisation will consist of colleagues from all brands within the TRATON Group together with many new colleagues from China. We are building the organisation simultaneously as we develop the product

Your team
You will be part of the chassis team and we need to test suppliers from China and also make sure we meet the regulations on the Chinese market. In order to do so we need to perform a lot of physical testing.

We need to perform tests at Scania and in China. We adapt the performance and functionality to meet the unique requirements of the Chinese market. Everyone on the team is expected to find ideas on how to simplify parts in order to lower the price.

Your work 
As we are a fast-growing R&D department we work agile and put work & effort where we identify the critical tasks in the project. You are part of this fast and fun way of working.

As a Test leader, you will be a part of the long-term strategic development of the chassis parts.
We design for this specific market and therefore we can simplify some of the parts of the chassis and we need to estimate and plan for tests.

Your profile
As a test leader, you are expected to coordinate component and vehicle truck tests on-site in China & Sweden in close cooperation with the development team in Sweden. ​

Your assignments will be to:​


• Together with our development team in Södertälje, Sweden plan component and vehicle tests in China & Sweden​
• Schedule test locations such as rigs and tracks​
• Find, plan and have a close dialog with test engineers performing the tests​

You:​


• are comfortable working in an organisation under build-up, where not everything is in place​
• like to take initiative and to fast and efficiently solve problems and deliver results​
• have courage, take great responsibility and have a good ability to develop and maintain a wide network of contacts at all levels​
• are used to working at a high pace and delivering on high expectations
• have experience from Scania testing department
• English spoken and written is required and Mandarin is a merit.

Your location
The Industrial Operations Asia - Research and Development (TR) is based in Södertälje. However, flexible work location may be applied to reflect competencies needed and deliveries in the project. Business trips abroad and to China must be considered.
