IKEA of Sweden, or IoS, is responsible for developing the IKEA range and making it available to stores and customers all over the world. IKEA has assigned IKEA of Sweden as owner of the IKEA main processes of "Creating the Home Furnishing Offer" and "Supplying", as well as leading the Home Furnishing (HF) Businesses and the Purchasing development of Materials/Categories.

Test Technician - Furniture

As a Test Technician, you are responsible for testing the IKEA products during the product development process. As our new Test Technician you will be part of the furniture team and your responsibility will be to test all the different product types that exist within the IKEA range. You are an important part of the chain to ensure that the products achieve the quality and safety requirements.

More specifically you will;
- Perform test and evaluate results for all product types within furniture (tables, seating, storage etc)
- Develop new test methods in co-operation with Home Furnishing Businesses and Laws and Standard specialists
- Participate in quality assessment of external test laboratories within your area
- Perform internal method audits at IKEA Test laboratory
- Read and interpret international standards
- Take part of European standardization work within test methods of furniture
- Write test instructions
- Work with measurement of uncertainty within Furniture Lab
- Share your competence and experience of testing within your area

Is this your next challenge?
We are looking for you with a technical background. Preferably you have 2-3 years Technical education or experience from working with technical matters. You need to have experience from working with statistics and mathematics. Knowledge about product development and furniture testing is a plus.

As a person, you have a natural curiosity combined with a problem solving approach. You are very structured and have a desire to share knowledge and teach others. You are pedagogical and have the ability to communicate with experts as well as non experts.
IKEA of Sweden is a truly global environment, with colleagues from all over the world. You therefore need to be fluent in English.
