Text Layout Editor

In our global in-house creative agency, Catalogue Development Centre, we work with the latest trends in fashion and cosmetics. Every third week a new catalogue is launched, with beautiful and selling layouts, displaying the more than 800 Oriflame products. The Oriflame catalogue is the shopping window and store for our customers all over the world! The agency employs around 100 people, all with a devotion to fashion, trends and creation. Together with the Marketing and Product Development department we are responsible for translating new product ideas into catalogue pages, distributed as our main marketing tool for selling our products all over the world. The agency covers all activities related to model selection, photo shootings, art direction, copy, retouch, layout editing, language translations, project management, production coordination and printing; all functions tightly working together with the aim of making our catalogue number one in the world. Our catalogue is distributed in 59 markets globally with 100 million copies printed per year. The catalogue covers 35 language versions, 48 price versions, 55 000 unique text pages, 11 000 unique layout pages and 11 000 new pictures per year. We are now looking for a number of people to strengthen the department during the summer holidays. Purpose of the job As a Text Layout Editor at our Catalogue Development Center you will be responsible for coordinating text translations and corrections towards Oriflame's local markets. The position implies responsibility for performing typographical control of each local language. Price control of products stated in our catalogues to our local markets is also included in the Text Layout Editor's tasks. You will create PDF-files for local proofing and for final printing. Creation of language layers and import of languages through our Catalog Management System (CMS) will also be part of your duties. Your key responsibilities will include * Create language layers and import languages * Graphical control of language versions * Coordinate translations, corrections as well as prices with the local markets * Create PDF-files for local proofing and for final print Your qualifications You are a detailed and thorough person with the ability and willingness to work in a structured and well-organized manner in order to meet critical deadlines. As a Text Layout Editor you will need to have good knowledge of QuarkXpress, or equivalent, as well as a good general understanding of graphic work. The position requires strong English skills, both written and spoken plus strong administrative skills. We believe you have at least a couple of years of experience as a qualified Text Editor or equivalent. Your characteristics You are an efficient team player with the ability of working pro-actively combined with a willingness to put in some extra effort during periods of greater workloads.
