The Department of Informatics (Information Systems) is part of the university’s Faculty of Technology, and comprises currently ten departments. The Department of Informatics has app. 30 members of staff, including three are professors, and two associate professors, and nine lecturers. There are also six doctoral students and two post-docs.
Research is carried out within a number of themes where the dominant are: digital business and economics, information management, design of interactive artefacts and services, e-learning, e-health, and evaluation. The Department offers three bachelor and three master programs, while educational activities are carried out in three cities: Kalmar, Växjö and Ljungby.
This position is to operate in the context of the ‘Gunilla Bradley Centre for Digital Business’ (see: https://lnu.gbc/en/gbc/ ), located at the Department of Informatics. GBC represents an association of researchers from various disciplinary quarters who study digital businesses; the underlying question of its research is: ‘how do the uses of digital technologies give rise to value creation and appropriation’.
This postdoc position is established in cooperation with the firm ‘Cargotec Sweden AB’, see: www.kalmarglobal.com ), which is a leading provider of forkliftsglobally, and the ‘Centre for Information Logistics’ in Ljungby (see: www.cil.se ). Cargotec is pursuing currently an initiative aimed to digitalize its forklifts, requiring new knowledge about digital goods and services and its effects; to that end a new research program is being launched at Gunilla Bradley Centre for Digital Business with the focus on: ‘commercialization of digital goods and services for industrial machines’ – that program will host two full time postdoc positions with several associated part time senior researchers.
