As a student ambassador, you will display life as an international student in Sweden, as well as our science subjects to prospective students. The candidates we are looking for are international students enrolled in a Master’s programme at the Faculty of Science. You will be part of our group of Swedish and international student ambassadors and have the chance to add relevant work experience to your CV.
Job tasks
As a student ambassador you are representing the Faculty and have an important role in the recruitment of prospective international students and introducing them to the Faculty of Science at the University of Gothenburg. Some of the most common tasks include:
Digital information sessions
Most information and recruitment activities will take place online through for example digital fairs, webinars and Zoom calls. Your work will mainly include sharing your own experience as an international student in Sweden and informing about our courses and programmes within science, mathematics and conservation.
Social media
Part of the group of international ambassadors run our international Instagram profile, which includes planning, posting and creating content suitable for current and prospective science students.
Activities for students
You might also participate in planning and running activities for other groups of students studying at the Faculty, such as foreign exchange students and other programme students, in collaboration with the whole group of ambassadors.
Qualifications
You have to be an enrolled student and have studied at least one semester at the Faculty of Science. Furthermore, it is important that you are outgoing and comfortable talking to people and being visible on the web, in film clips and on social media. You are an organised person and can convey information in a clear way. You enjoy sharing your experiences as an international student living in Sweden.
Extra merit: If you are creative and comfortable with using social media, we would be happy to have you be part of the Social Media Team responsible for creating content on Instagram.
Employment
The employment is an intermittent employment until 2024-05-31. The number of hours varies depending on need. Mostly, we need help during the major recruitment periods in October-December and March- April. Placement at the Faculty Office of Science. The start date will be agreed upon individually.
You will receive an introduction before you start your first tasks.
Remuneration of SEK 150 per hour plus holiday pay. In addition to the compensation, you also get work experience, which is an advantage for future employment. You will also receive a certificate from us for the work you have done.

Salaries are set individually at the University.
In accordance with the National Archives of Sweden’s regulations, the University must archive application documents for two years after the appointment is filled.
