The role

The primary role of the Systems Librarian is to provide both leadership and support when it comes to software solutions to library services. You have the capacity to thrive in a collaborative and future-oriented environment of a major research institution and to respond effectively to changing needs. You will work in close collaboration with the IT department, collection staff, outreach and scholarly communications librarians and vendor technical support. In order to be successful in this role you need to be service oriented and interested in user-centered approaches to service development. An analytical and pedagogical approach is also essential.

The SSE library is a medium/small academic library with a large mission. Currently, we are twelve information professionals working in the library. This means that the opportunities for professional development are significant and that you will work in a supportive and progressive team. The tasks and responsibilities of our colleagues are various and develop according to interests and organizational needs. While the focus of this position will continue to be on development and administration of our library systems, we encourage candidates who have a broad interest in library services.

About the Library

The SSE Library is a highly digitized information and knowledge hub supporting and empowering researchers and students to find fact based and creative ways to conduct scholarly work. Furthermore, the library is a key partner for the dissemination and utilization of scholarly output as well as in research and learning analytics.
