What’s in it for you and what you’ll do?
The position is located within the Solution and Architecture department, which is a part of Vehicle Propulsion within R&D.
The department is responsible for leading, analyzing and development of concepts and solutions for the propulsion systems including traction batteries, electric machines, transmissions and charging systems in the future Volvo Car vehicles. You’ll be part of the Solution Architect Team that is a group with engaged architects and technical experts that are dedicated to developing the future competitive world class sustainable future transport solutions. 

As a Senior Thermal Aspect Leader, you support our teams at Volvo Cars to securing vital aspects when developing our complex products. The aim is to support the work of finding the best thermal solution for our different architectures. The work is done on a complete vehicle level in dialogue with attribute responsible and in close cooperation with vehicle and system architects and CAE/analysis engineers.
As a Senior Thermal Aspect Leader, you apply system design principles for all heating and cooling needs to assure that efficient thermal solutions are created. The expected outcome of the work is decided thermal solutions for all heating and cooling needs that has been identified. One main responsibility of the Thermal aspect leader is to identify new or changing heating or cooling needs in an early stage.
The aim is to maximize attribute performance while minimizing system cost, weight, energy consumption and complexity.

Do you fit the profile?
The person we are looking for is flexible and enjoys changes as you will be working in a fast-paced, intellectually challenging environment. You are an experienced problem solver, looking for a bigger business challenge. As a person you also apply creative thinking to issues and analyze qualitative and quantitative research data.
You are a self-starter with a pioneering spirit; resourceful and able to take ownership quickly and reliably. You have an ability to lead through people, listen and coach and you are energetic and truly motivated by creating new solutions together with the cross-functional team.

You have a technical university degree background. You have at least 7 years work experience in the field of Thermal system design and system engineering principles. You are well trained to create/refine presentation materials.
Experience from the following tools is meritorious; GT Suite, VSim and 3D CFD tools
Driver license B is mandatory.
