Where You’ll Belong
Green Propulsion and Thermal Management are increasingly important areas for Volvo Cars to become leading in Electrification. Are you a function or SW developer who wants to contribute to energy efficient propulsion? Then this is your chance! We are looking for a Thermal Function System Designer to coordinate the electrical realization of our Thermal Management Functionality.

You will belong to the team Thermal Monitoring System Development. We design and monitor different temperature levels, cooling down, heating up, transfer/transport and store heat for electric motors, batteries, control modules, etc. all with sustainability in focus. Together we have complete ownership of Thermal Management from the first architectural sketch to software release & monitoring in vehicles.

Your Contribution
You will work with Function Realisation, Calibration and Software being the key person for total coordination of the electrical realization of Thermal Management functionality. You will break down functional behavior to requirements on SW implementation and lead the system design work with the allocation of both software components, actuators and sensors.

Overall, you will coordinate the system design and implementation of Thermal Management Functionality across ART’s. 

You will collaborate both within the ART with System architects, SW & Function developers, CAE and Component responsible as well as with other ART’s, Attributes and Aspects. Giving support to other brands will also be among your collaborations.  

You will also participate in below:
•    System safety work such as HARA, lead needed developments for FTAs, TSCs or similar. 
•    Development of our Verification plan (AVB) on the system- and complete vehicle level, regarding the function, both generic and per program.
•    Development of our ART’s modules and interfaces, together with our system architects
•    Benchmark work within our functional area 
•    Future development and improvement of our Thermal Management Functionalities, documented in our Technical and Functional Roadmaps

Competence is Important
We see that you have at least a BSc in mechatronics, electrical or electronics and several years of experience in Functional or SW development.

Experience in Electrical/SW/Function development/ownership and/or from testing within automotive development, preferably in an Agile framework, will be highly appreciated. 

Personality is Key
You embrace challenges and thrive from coordinating work. Your technical interest is genuine, and you are driven by curiosity. Further, you have a structured approach and good analytical skills.
