Background of thesis project
Volvo Group is in the middle of an ambitious digitalization journey, aimed at streamlining its digital and IT assets, migrating applications to the cloud and replacing/upgrading legacy software and applications with latest technologies. The ambition of this digitalization journey is to offer a better end-users experience, faster access to the data, increased compliance and cybersecurity, as well as a faster development time and reduced time to market for new Products and Services while optimizing the total cost of the IT landscape. To achieve this ambitious plan, Volvo Group needs to develop and enhance partnerships with Strategic Partners within the IT industry to co-develop, co-invest and align technology roadmaps.

Description of thesis work
Develop a framework to assess the Partnership “potential” of an IT supplier and the internal maturity level
Develop a framework to manage the IT Partnerships (Governance external/internal, Scorecard, Product Roadmap, Goals…) and drive growth to other business areas
Build a process to assess the ROIs of different partnership models (co-investment, co-development, acquisition…) during the end-to-end lifecycle
Develop a TCO model to assess the totcal cost of ownership of a technology solution (incl. hardware, updates, upgrades, change management, efficiencies, decomissioning…)
